about
My Picket Fence is a collaborative public art project that upends the concept of the traditional American “White Picket Fence” by using artistic expression as a form of connection, challenging the role of tradition as both an ideological and physical barrier to human intimacy. Community members are encouraged to engage with the art directly by adding descriptions and illustrations of their own idea of connection in pursuit of a more robust understanding of how we might be united through dismantling a traditional tool of separation.
The installation will remain in the Dairy Block post Pride month as a reminder that every member of the LGBTQIA+ deserves to create and live out their version of the "American Dream"
